Lost property policy

Items get left behind, usually a phone, a charger, a coat or a laptop bag in the boot. This policy explains how to report a loss, what happens when something is found and how items are returned. It was last reviewed on 27 August 2026.

Section 01

1. Purpose of this policy

This policy explains how property left in one of our vehicles is handled, from the moment it is reported or found to the point it is returned or disposed of. It applies to items left by any passenger travelling under a booking with us, including passengers who did not make the booking themselves.

Section 02

2. Reporting a lost item

Contact us on WhatsApp at +44 7775 554848 or through the contact page as soon as you notice something is missing. Speed matters, because a vehicle may complete several journeys in a day and be cleaned between them. Please report the loss to us rather than only to the venue or airport you were travelling to, since we can check the vehicle directly.

Section 03

3. What to tell us

A precise description makes it far easier to match an item to a report, particularly for common objects such as black phone cases and dark coats. If you are unsure whether the item was left in the vehicle or elsewhere, tell us anyway. It costs nothing to check. The booking reference, or the date, time and route of the journey A clear description including make, model, colour and any distinguishing marks Where in the vehicle you believe it was left, such as the rear seat pocket or the boot Whether the item is valuable, contains data, or is needed urgently A contact number for arranging the return

Section 04

4. Searching the vehicle

Chauffeurs check the cabin and boot between journeys, so many items are found before they are even reported. When a report comes in we ask the chauffeur to search the vehicle again at the next safe opportunity. If the vehicle is mid-journey, the search happens as soon as it is free. We will tell you the outcome either way rather than leaving you waiting without news.

Section 05

5. Storage of found items

Items found are logged with the date, the journey and a description, and are kept secure while we try to reunite them with their owner. Where an item is clearly identifiable, for example a wallet with a card in it or a bag with a luggage tag, we will attempt to contact the owner or the person who made the booking directly.

Section 06

6. Returning your property

Return is arranged in the way that suits you best and that we can practically manage: collection in person, handover on a subsequent journey, or a tracked courier or postal service. The cost of postage or courier delivery is for the owner, and is agreed with you before anything is sent. We will ask you to confirm identity and describe the item before releasing it, to make sure it goes back to the right person.

Section 07

7. Valuables, documents and medication

Passports, travel documents, laptops, jewellery, keys and medication are treated as priority items and we will try to make contact quickly, since their loss usually has consequences beyond the item itself. Where medication is left behind and the passenger cannot be reached, we will act sensibly and urgently to get it back to them or to the venue they were travelling to.

Section 08

8. Perishable, hazardous and prohibited items

Food, drink and other perishable items are disposed of and are not stored. The same applies to anything that cannot be kept safely. Anything that appears to be dangerous or unlawful is handled in accordance with the law, which may mean handing it to the police rather than returning it.

Section 09

9. Unclaimed property

Where an item cannot be matched to an owner or the owner does not respond, it is held for a reasonable period appropriate to the item, and this period is confirmed to you where a report is open. After that, items may be donated to charity or disposed of securely, with anything holding personal data wiped or destroyed rather than passed on.

Section 10

10. Items found by other passengers

If you find something in the vehicle that is not yours, please hand it to the chauffeur rather than take it with you or leave it in the seat pocket. Items handed in are logged in the same way as anything found by a chauffeur, and are dealt with under this policy.

Section 11

11. Responsibility for belongings

Personal belongings remain the responsibility of the passenger at all times, as set out in our conditions of carriage. Please check the cabin, seat pockets and boot before leaving the vehicle. We will make genuine efforts to find and return lost property, but we cannot accept responsibility for items left behind, or for their condition, value or subsequent loss in transit when returned.

Section 12

12. Data protection and found items

Devices, documents and bags often contain personal data. Found items are not opened or examined beyond what is needed to identify the owner, and their contents are not accessed, copied or shared. Records of lost property reports are kept in line with our privacy policy and are deleted once the matter is closed and the retention period has passed.
